and the day just got worse

apparently fate thinks it is funny to get my hopes up then dash them. so i called the credit card company to tell them, "sorry no moolah for you" and the woman listened and then said, i am goingot transfer you to someone who can help you. so the next lady gets on the line, i rexplain my shameful problem again, she clicks clicks clicks away on the computer and says, "sorry you are only 29 days late, i could help you if it was over 30 days late, but let me transfer you..." . she transfer me to a guy (to whom i explain it all again) and he says (after the prerequisite click click clicking on the computer) "let me transfer you to someone who can help you... and good luck."
so i start ALL over again and explain it to this woman (who oddly enough works for the consumer credt counseling program I was contemplating calling in the first place). she takes all my info and crunches all the numbers and puts me on hold and click clacks away and come back and goes over how much they can have my interest rates negotiated down and how much my new payments will be and then tells me "sorry you don't make enough money for us to allow you to pay reduced amounts on your credit cards." it seems that after i pay my expenses, i have $20 left with which to pay $1600 in credit card bills.
so i went back to the idea of bankruptcy. mom calls to check on me and i tell her what happened and she basically gives that silent "i disapprove of your bankruptcy" talk. you know the ones moms can give withoiut saying a word, that make you feel so bad you wonder how many drugs in your system are too many for the donate your body to science people?
but i continue looking for bankruptcy lawyers in my area and i come across one who takes credit cards and i'm thinking "that can not be right--there has got to be something vaguely unethical about that."
