I am a google ho! I like free things that save me time.
I loved gmail and rushed to get an invite so i could have all that storage space. (ok i hate that i get a lot of spam in spanish, but hey!)
google maps, i like them too althoguh i ahve to say mapquest is still my default.
i started using google bookmarks service so that i could have my bookmarks available while online at another computer. it also means that as i surf at work and find a site interesting, in can bkmark it in my gmarks account and then get it when i get home instead of emailing myself urls.
but today i did a search for a local compnay's phone number and noticed that there was a click to call button. i was curious so i clicked. if you type in your phone number, google will now call you and have the other party ringing. and they will send the company's phone number as the caller id so you can save it easily on your phone. AND if it is not local, they say they will pay the LD charges. I was a little wary when i read that last part but then i realized that if they can prove to businesses that people got their listings from them, they could get businesses to buy increased advertising or pay to be listed in the phonebook section. and i don't have to remember to "tell them you found them on google!"
and now i discovered the enhanced features of google sms. i can use text messages to get directions rather than pay verizon $5 month and use my minutes to get directions via mapquest. logging on is a bitch because it means i either have to leave the service running as i search for streets or log off, drive drive drive, log on, log off, drive drive drive. and that logging on crap ain't instantaneous so i could have missed my turn in that time (yeah i know i realy should stop driving while i am doing it.)
