communes

a girl i know moved to a commune of sorts. perhaps it would be better to call it an intentional self-sustainable society.
She is living in a paradise (it is in hawaii) and seems so rather stress free. Their source of "extra income comes from allowing people to visit and I guess selling things they grow.
it is an idea which is very appealing to me in some ways. They are not so diehard that they catch and kill their own meat as I saw on one documentary about living off the grid so I think I might be able to make the adjustment. They seem like they are a little easier to join than the convent.
